Sculpting Realistic Facial Features in Clay with Sophie Gibson
With the aid of demos, diagrams, and geometric simplifications you will learn to create realistic facial features that contain depth and variety.
If you have already taken a portrait sculpting class with me this course will help you add nuance and strength to your portraits. If you have never sculpted the human figure before, this course will break down complex forms into manageable pieces

| Instructor Bio: | Sophie Gibson is a ceramic sculptor, painter, and stop-motion animator who takes inspiration from people and natural environments. Sophie spent her undergraduate career in Providence, Rhode Island attending both the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University as a member of the Brown | RISD Dual Degree Program and earned a a B.F.A. in Illustration and B.A. in History. since then she has been an apprentice in the studio of internationally recognized ceramic sculptor Cristina Cordova and the studio manager at CityClay. Sophie currently maintains a studio practice at Visible Records building in Charlottesville. |
