TRY IT - Beginner Wheel Throwing Workshops with Harry Moxley



In this 2.5 hour session students will be introduced to basic wheel skills while making lots of funny mistakes and big messes—there’s no way around it. It’s just mud, which, through a bit of alchemy you will turn into something useful, cute, beautiful, or hilarious. So fun! After the workshop is over, we will dry your work, trim it, fire it, glaze it and fire it again for pick up in about two to three weeks. All the materials and tools you need will be provided just wear comfy clothes and bring your sense of humor.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: You will be introduced to the basic techniques for creating a pot on a spiring wheel. This is a great way to test the waters to see if this is something you would like to pursue.

Instructor: Harry Moxley
Instructor Bio: Harry has been making pots since 2005. A filmmaker and digital media professional for 30 years looking for a new creative outlet, Harry stumbled into pottery after visiting Clayfest, an annual event presented by the Baltimore studio Clayworks and has been hooked ever since.

The workshop fee covers all the clay, tools, aprons and towels and all the work we do after the workshop is over to complete your pots so you can take them home.
