FALL: Independent Study with Randy Bill, Mondays, 1:00

If you have good skills and a working knowledge of the processes used in wheel throwing, hand building or ceramic sculpture, independent study may be a good fit for you. You will have the support of your classmates and teacher, discussions and demonstrations, and time to develop your ideas Are you ready to make the commitment to work on what interests you the most?

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: The primary skills augmenting your pursuits will be about the creative process with mulitple approaches to any given issue. Research, experiments and flights of fancy will eb the order of the day with lots of fun tangents. You pick and chose from the smorgasbord of offerings.
Requirements: Students must have good skills and a working knowledge of one ceramic process - hand building, wheel throwing or sculpture. To protect our kiln clay must be purchased form our shop. We have our own studio glazes for you to use, and we have a wide variety of commercials glazes available.. We do not allow any other glazes or underglazes on pots we are to fire for you. Your are welcome to bring your own tools or buy new ones in our shop.

Instructor Bio: Randy has a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a mixed media artist working primarily with clay and has taught ceramics for 31 years. She is also gardener and the founder of CityClay.
