This class is for students with basic throwing skills well in hand. Tips on forms and techniques with complex forms will help you improve your throwing skills and designs. Expect to use your clay more fully and grow both your basic and more challenging forms.

Materials Included: | The class fee includes aprons, towels, and a shelf for your clay and supplies. |
Requirements: | To protect our kiln clay must be purchased form our shop. We have our own studio glazes for you to use, and we have a wide variety of commercials glazes available. We do not allow any other glazes or underglazes to be used in our kilns. Your are welcome to bring your own tools or buy new ones in our shop. Beginners may borrow some studio tools, all others are asked to have their own. |

Instructor Bio: | "I have been a potter since 1973, when I took a community pottery course and said, 'This is what I want to do.' "I guess I was right, as I'm still at it 48 years later." Nancy taught Ceramics at Mary Baldwin College for 21 years, and for a number of years at Piedmont Community college, she has been primary wheel teacher at CityClay for 8 years. Nancy is one of the founding members and long time president of the Artisan Studio Tour, the annual area showcase for regional craftsman. |
