SPRING 2023: Figure Sculpting with Sophie Gibson Wednesdays, 6:30pm

This 10 week sculpture course is open to everyone, although prior hand building experience is helpful. We will cover the full human figure from head to toe, breaking down a quite advanced, technical pose into easy-to-follow steps. In this class students will work from photographic references with the aid of anatomical diagrams. Everyone will be sculpting the same pose, although minor variations or exaggerations of gesture are welcome. Each class will begin with demonstrations, followed by independent work time during which Sophie will go around to provide one-on-one assistance and critiques. This course will focus on form and will not cover glazing. We will talk about surface options in our final class.
