Summer 2023: Beyond Round with Nancy Ross, Two Weeks, Monday/Tuesday 9:30am



Throwing and altering forms beginning with wheel thrown pieces. Students must be able to center and work with at least 2 pounds of clay. Projects will be started on Mondays and completed on Tuesday. You already know how to make a round wheel thrown pot. Now take it to an alternate space.

Materials Included: Clay must be purchased form our shop, but you are welcome to bring your own tools or buy them in our shop

Instructor: Nancy Ross
Instructor Bio: "I' have been a potter since 1973, when I took a community pottery course and said, "This is what I want to do." I guess I was right, as I'm still at it 48 years later." Nancy taught Ceramics at Mary Baldwin College for 21 years, and for a number of years at Piedmont Community college, she has been primary wheel teacher at CityClay for 8 years. Nancy is one of the founding members and long time president of the Artisan Studio Tour, the annual area showcase for regional craftsman.

The class fee includes open studio time during business and class hours. Some restrictions apply. The fee does not include the price of clay, or tools. New students may borrow tools from the studio.
