Summer 2023: Light Up Your Life: Making a Lamp from Start to Room Ready with Nancy Ross



During this one day workshop, participants will learn how to throw and trim their own lamps. Nancy will give a comprehensive wiring demonstration to teach participants how to wire their lamps once they have been glaze fired. The workshop cost includes a kit with everything needed to wire the lamp. 



Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: For intermediate and advanced students
Requirements: Students should be able to throw an 8" cylinder.
Instructor: Nancy Ross
Instructor Bio: "I' have been a potter since 1973, when I took a community pottery course and said, "This is what I want to do." I guess I was right, as I'm still at it 48 years later." Nancy taught Ceramics at Mary Baldwin College for 21 years, and for a number of years at Piedmont Community college, she has been primary wheel teacher at CityClay for 8 years. Nancy is one of the founding members and long time president of the Artisan Studio Tour, the annual area showcase for regional craftsman.
