WINTER 2024: Independent Study with Randy Bill, Mondays, 10:00am
You will have the support of your classmates and teachers through spontaneous discussions and interesting demonstrations. There are no "how to" assignments in this class. The focus is on the creative process through explorations and experiments with off shoots, musings and what ifs. Expect the all important and teachable failures that are so necessary for reaching those moments of joy and deep satisfaction.

| Skill Details: | In this session of Independent Study we will focus on the process for finding what interests you, and developing your methods. There will be discussions, demonstrations, and samplings through the 10 weeks to help inspire you and to help you find your muse. Research, experiments and flights of fancy will be the order of the day with lots of fun tangents. You can pick and chose from the smorgasbord of offerings. |
| Materials Included: | The class fee includes aprons, towels, and a shelf for your clay and supplies. |
| Requirements: | Students MUST have good skills and a working knowledge of at least one ceramic process - hand building, wheel throwing or sculpture. To protect our kiln clay must be purchased form our shop. We have our own studio glazes for you to use, and we have a wide variety of commercials glazes available.. We do not allow any other glazes or underglazes on pots we are to fire for you. Your are welcome to bring your own tools or buy new ones in our shop. |

| Instructor Bio: | Randy has a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a mixed media artist working primarily with clay and has taught ceramics for 30+ years. She is also gardener and the founder of CityClay. |
