Winter 2026: Wheel, Adv Beg, Tuesday Mornings with Sue Heflin, 12 weeks. Fine Tuning Wheel Throwing Basics
This class is for those beginners looking to improve their throwing and glazing skills. This class is open to anyone who has taken one or more Basic Wheel classes and who wants to advance their skill set. We will focus on surface design, glazing, and honing those pesky throwing habits that keep our work from looking its best.
At least one Basic Wheel class is a REQUIREMENT. Please, no absolute beginners.

| Skill Details: | Basic wheel classes are for learning the process of throwing pots on an electric wheel. From wedging clay, centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, to decorating and glazing, you will gradually develop the skills you need to make food safe pottery you can use. |
| Materials Included: | This class fee includes some practice clay, and a shelf for supplies and projects. |
| Requirements: | To protect our kilns, clay must be purchased from our shop. We have our own studio glazes for you to use, and we have a wide variety of commercials glazes available. We do not allow any other glazes or underglazes on pots we are to fire for you. Your are welcome to bring your own tools or buy new ones in our shop. Beginners may borrow some studio tools when available, all others are asked to have their own. |

| Instructor Bio: | Sue discovered her love of wheel throwing after retiring in 2015 and has found a second home at City Clay. She prefers making functional pottery and loves experimenting with color. She can also be found helping out as a volunteer City Clay kiln tech. |
