Fall 2019—Gargoyles and Grotesques with Chad Coffman, Th 6:30-9:00, 10 weeks
Explore the weird side of your creativity with clay! In this class, students will build all manner of strange creatures that would look at home on any gothic cathedral. We will delve into more expressive forms of figurative sculpture through such projects as mix-and-match animals, garden gargoyles, narrative grotesques, and if students are daring, even a fountain gargoyle! Previous experience with clay is required for this class.
Students will need some supplies for this class. It is suggested to buy the 630 White Stoneware the first day of class, though students may work with any of the other options from the shop. Check with your teacher the first night for the tools you will need.
Pre-requisite: Experience with sculpting or handbuilding
Teacher: Chad Coffman
