Fall 2018—Intermediate Hand-building with Steve Palmer, Thursdays 1:00-3:30
Students should be familiar with slab construction, glazing, storing clay and our general studio procedures. Depending on the group, projects may include slab boxes, slab vases, teapots and sculpted forms as well as more studies in surface design.
Supplies are required for class and come with some restrictions. To protect our kilns, all clay and commercial glazes must be purchased from our shop. Bring your own tools or buy them from us in our shop the first day of class. Our shop has expanded with a wide range of tools, and mid-range clays and glazes. The price of our clays includes all the firings and the use of our dipping glazes. Commercial glazes are only offered as an option. Special thanks to Baltimore and Richmond Clayworks for their support and help with our shop. The sale of our products helps support the existence of this studio.
