Spring Workshop 2017 —IKEBANA with Helena Arouca
This is a great class for potters and gardeners. If you come from the cut and fluff school of flower arranging, this class will give you the skills you need to make simple plant materials exquisite. Helena is both a City Clay potter and an instructor in the art of Ikebana. She has been practicing Ikebana and teaching since 1994 with the Sangetsu School of Flower Arrangement in Richmond. She is also the current first Vice President/Program Chair of the Ikebana International. www.sangetsunorthamerica.org.
You will be introduced to the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging by making two arrangements. All of the flowers and plant materials along with the pot you will use to learn with will be provided. The second arrangement will be made using either a pot you bring or another one provided by Helena.
