CLOSED Winter 2018— SATURDAY, Basic Wheel with Liz Herlevsen 10:00-12:30
Basic Wheel classes are for absolute beginners and anyone who wants to start from the very beginning. Students will learn wheel skills while making bowls, cups, plates and vases and with an introduction to handles, spouts and lids. Trimming and glazing will also be covered.
Supplies are required for class and come with some restrictions. To protect our kilns, all clay and commercial glazes must be purchased from our shop. Beginning students should buy the 630 White Stoneware, others may choose from our list online. New students may use our studio tools or buy a beginner kit. Basic wheel supplies can be purchased online from the drop down menu online under "Buy Supplies". You can bring your own tools, buy them elsewhere, or buy them from us in our shop the first day of class. Our shop has expanded with a wide range of tools, and mid-range clays and glazes. The price of our clays includes all the firings and the use of our dipping glazes. Commercial glazes are only offered as an option. Special thanks to Baltimore and Richmond Clayworks for their support and help with our shop. The sale of our products helps support the existence of this studio.
