CLOSED Summer 2019— Multi-level Hand Building with Judd Jarvis, M 6:30-9:00
Multi-level Hand-building classes are for absolute beginners and for those with experience. Students will use slabs to make pots, cups, pitchers, and trays. Surface design techniques like water etching, stamping, and glazing will be covered. The teacher will teach beginning skills through projects that can be approached on a beginning level or on a more advanced level. Intermediate and advanced students may work on those projects or on projects they choose.
Students will need some supplies for this class. Beginning students should buy the 630 White Stoneware the first day of class, others may choose from the other options from the shop. Your teacher will go over the tools you will need. Check out our shop when you come to class.
To protect our kilns, all clay and commercial glazes must be purchased from our shop. The price of our clays includes all the firings and the use of our dipping glazes. Commercial glazes are only offered as an option. Our shop has expanded with a wide range of tools, and mid-range clays and glazes. Special thanks to Baltimore and Richmond Clayworks for their support and help with our shop. The sale of our products helps support the existence of this studio.
