Hand Building is the basis for all ceramics, from functional pottery to sculpture. Some of the most sophisticated work in ceramics today is hand built. If you are new to clay, this is a great way to start. If you are a wheel-thrower, consider a hand building class to free you up in ways that will surprise you. Students will use slabs to make pots like cups, pitchers and trays. Surface design techniques including stamping and glazing will be covered.
