City Clay is an independently owned ceramic studio offering a creative workspace, professional equipment, classes, and gallery space for potters and adult students.
Located in Charlottesville’s historic Silk Mills Building, it’s a lively, welcoming community where artists share ideas, learn from one another, and have a genuinely good time.

Classes
Students of all levels can explore wheel throwing, hand-building, sculpture, and surface design. With 16 wheels and two hand-building studios, City Clay offers plenty of space to learn, create, and have fun.

Purchase and stock up on your clay supplies with us. Our knowledgeable staff can help you choose the best tools, clays, and glazes, making it easy to learn, create, and enjoy the process.
